- Ethics – We want to get rid of the dishonesty and double dealing that generates anti-social behaviors in companies. Through transparency and community-building, we want to induce all stakeholders (players, shareholders, employees, contributors, contractors…) to reveal their true expectations and preferences, and find solutions that are practical and efficient for all involved parties.
- Community – We want to do online games that involve communities. We believe they introduce a fundamental paradigm shift in gameplay, innovation processes and even business standards. A community is now fundamental part of the company, and it needs to be as involved as possible. The studio is part of the community, and therefore abides to its social contract rules
- Decentralization – With Internet, it makes less and less sense to have to be physically at the same location as your coworkers. There are talents all over the world, we want to be able to include them in the project, no matter where they live. We thus rely primarily on electronic tools to communicate and keep everyone in the loop (but we still like to meet face to face, too!).
- Free Software – Internet introduced a fundamental change: information, which used to be packaged as physical goods (like books or CDs), is now free. As soon as someone created it, it can be replicated freely, and everyone can take it, copy it and modify it to his liking. Instead of fighting this change, we choose to embrace it.
