Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoHi all,
I’ve the opportunity to do a playtest with 2 people i met in a coworking space this morning. Here are the comments i collected from the player 1:
The “create game tab” is not visible enough. The player 1 suggested to add text on the side of the “+” icon.
The player 1 didn’t like the chat and “join game” button in the same…[Read more]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoAnd priorities set for 2.2 (sprint until next Monday evening): http://tickets.farsides.com/projects/cardstories/issues?query_id=16
It’s too much for one sprint, but we’ll take care of that when Adolfo will […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoInteresting the color codes, didn’t think about it. We would need to ensure there is one main consistent color for each step then, probably both on the interface and on the progress bar (on top, below the tabs) […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks ago+1 for seeing the online status
+1 for the result screen too – it’s definitely messy right now. The good news is that tartaruga already worked on this, to integrate the “continue” workflow and the upcoming […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoAbout the color coding fort the tabs, it can be interesting to use the color already displayed on the screen to help the player to understand what he need to do.
For example, the tab can get the same orange […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoI found pretty much the same problems during the game session. Here are other issues i had.
- We can’t see if people you’re playing with are still connected or not during a game.
- We can’t see if there […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoGood idea to show the action needed – it’s true that it can be hard to remember when there are several games going on. Need to think of how to do this without adding a lot of visual clutter though. Maybe an icon? […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoVery cool remarks, there’s already a lot of things to improve huh?
About this “* It can be difficult to understand the color coding of the “ready” tabs (ie the ones with a game that require an action from the […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoCool to see those features starting to work : ) The first playtests this morning have shown a number of rough edges to address though, so I’m going to list what I observed so we can compile a list of the most […]

Game design 3 months, 2 weeks agoI’ve read with a lot of interest your tickets about new features.
I’ll be very interested to have your feedback after you play CS for a day, as you discussed with @antoviaque on the chat. That is to say, how this experience of interacting with players will help you prioritize your various ideas of features.
Looking forward to…[Read more]

Thank you for your comments
. I agree with you about the game rooms, it is too early to think about that. Perhaps it could be usefull later, once the community would be more important.I’m going to play CS all day tomorrow, if you want to discuss it during the day or thursday (i won’t be available wednesday and friday), let me know. Beside, i…[Read more]

Agreed! I think there is a lot to your ideas, and it’s good to start thinking of variants for the base gameplay.
We talked about priorities and the chicken&egg issue, but there is one feature which I think could fit in the current goals: the social leveling. We’d need to discuss it more, but there is a lot to it I think, it could match very…[Read more]

+1, I agree there might be big potential here

Ah, and this doesn’t prevent us from trying out the new variants btw – if you can write down a good protocol to just use the chat & emails for example, we can organize a playtest session. It’s a good excuse to play together, and this way we’ll get an idea of what could work, even if we don’t get to implement it soon.

Lots of very good ideas here – kudos! Copy-pasting the things Iw think would be worth digging into, from IRC:
09:40 To complete the document, here are a few points which would be good to have details on: 1) how the likes would relate to the metagoal, more precisely, 2) how do we mix players while they are in the tutorial phase? (to make sure the…[Read more]
+1
I really like the proposed background, i think that CS really fits in a universe such as ’le petit prince’, there is something cool to be done here.
Also i’m on the same line as Xavier for the next steps / questions.
1), 3) and 4) : have a look to the new docs, and if you have more question just ask me
2) The tutorial phase won’t be different from a regular game. The only change would be on the screen of the newcomer.
I couldn’t find the upload button -_-’, so the docs are posted on the CS tracker.
Thx Mathibus !
It seems to me that the CS community 2.0 doc answers the questions you raised @antoviaque , what do you think ?
And what would be a first small step to test this community framework ?
